With a name like fogwhistle, it had to be good! Tall ships and lighthouses are a passion with ocean people (myself included). The feeling (if not the fact) of lighthouses lives on in spirit.

A great site! Wonderful for the lighthouse buff (and especially old navigators) or just the casual visitor.

I'm going to British Columbia this summer to see
some lighthouses and your web site is MOST
helpful! I'm flabergasted at how many there are.
Wish me luck. Thank you.

This is a wonderful resource for anyone interested in BC lighthouses! I'm doing research for a book on Canadian lights and would appreciate hearing from anyone with connections to them. Check out my previous titles at www.sentinelpublications.com

Nice pictures! I was visiting this site because of my Great Grandpa who designed a lot of light houses, Lt.Col. W.P. Anderson. Nice to see. Keep up the good work.
|
I loved your site!!!
|
I hope one day to visit British Columbia before I am too much older, being in my early 50's now. My daughter and her fiance' visited there last fall and had only rave reviews.
|
Love your site.I was a lighthouse Keeper on Whitehead Island, Eastern Shore N.S. From early 1981 to late 1988, and enjoyed every minute of it. Martime Region has only one manned light station now so it sure makes me proud to see what you are doing with yours.
|
Excellent site! It's an amazing province to live in.

I just love lighthouses because they remind me of God as He is the Beacon of Light! I collect and try to visit as many as I can. May God bless all of you who take care of them.

I was looking for a Canadan light house page for a very long time now, and I finally found one. A good one at that :) I only have one question. I went to Vancouver a few years ago and I went to ligh house park. I was wondering what the name of that lighthouse was. I would greatly love your help. I love BC LIGHTHOUSES :)~

As one of the staff of Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites I would like to pass on sincere thanks to those of you for producing the great web site. I would also like to offer myself as a contact for Fisgard Lighthouse, the 1st lighthouse to enter operation on the west coast of Canada (entered service Nov. 16, 1860). I would like to work with you to produce a link to the website for Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site at http://parkscanada.pch.gc.ca/fisgard/
While we have good information about the early lighthouses on the B.C. coast, we constantly get questions about the lighthouse system today, and I'm sure this website will be most helpful for us in the future.
|
Great site I just discouvered it and will have to come back earlier in the day and spend more time!

I love pictures of the lighthouses and use them as my
Corporate backround. Your illustration of the maps
and names was especially good.
|
What a totally captivating and enjoyable website.
It is now my life ambition to work in a lighthouse.
What a great life it must be. If only there were
any manned stations left in the U.K. Cheers.
|
Super site! Keep up the good work and keep those politicians who would demolish Lighthouses at bay!
|
What a wonderful site!
Thank you for the information.
|
I am conducting a research project and I’m looking
for any images of George Davies - British Columbia’s
first lightkeeper.
I have checked with the BC Archives and came up
with nothing. Does anyone know if there are any
photographs or portraits in existence?
|
Excellent site; I especially love the clickable map -- its nice to know where the lighthouses are located. Great job!
|
I dropped in basically to find some pictures of various Canadian lighthouses (my wife and I are going to do our son's room in a "boat" theme, and we need a lighthouse). I'm glad I found this link because when we eventually visit the West Coast, I'm going to visit some of the beautiful places listed here. The Fisgard Lighthouse it is!
Great job!
|
its nice. it should be more nice if the pistues were captioned widely and the pictures boldly.
